Hey WWE fans, listen up and please do look at the picture above. Big Brock Lesnar did not cut himself over his right eye. 45 year old Randy Couture did.
Whewee! The writers on Bleacher Report's sister (OK, brother site, if you will) are all going nuts since the Randy Couture vs Brock Lesner fight and one writer (I am not naming names, cause you know who you are), even claims (gasp!) that the fight was "predetermined" because ex-WWE champion Brock Lesner won!
Wow, am I ever enjoying this unexpected reaction to the way the fight ended with a blow from Brock's humongous right hubcap-sized fist!
Quick, someone tell Randy that he was just fakin' that loose tooth! I dare you!
What fun, a fan of a fake sport stating with great conviction that "it will soon be revealed that "all" the UFC fights have been fixed since its inception" (that means 'begining' for you WWE fans trying to follow along).
I hate to admit just how much I love this turn of events, and wonder what the WWE fighters in attendance at the event or the one's who had to miss it because they were out of town on WWE related business and could not attend, think of the outcome.
Why am I cheering? Good heavens, this must be Armageddon!
So the fans I thought would be enjoying this win the most are questioning it, leaving me, of all people to champion Brock Lesner and say the big guy won it on his own merit.
Ah, darn, foiled again! Why me, lord, why me?
Brock was unnerved before this fight and was alone 'gutting up for the fight' in his empty locker room before his long trek to the octagon, scowling and pacing.
Randy was calm and congenial with his wife and entourage relaxing with him before the fight.
At the end of the first round the gigantic Lesner looked gassed and perhaps was having his own moment of self doubts.
When Randy cut him above the eye he appeared to wipe the blood spurt away in disbelief that his defeat could come, after all, in the much smaller package: 220# Randy Couture.
After he connected with the left side of Randy's head he took no chances and followed up by pouncing as quickly as a 280 pound man can pounce, on the faltering champ and began raining down punches.
And finally, mercifully after a hesitation that may have cost Randy a loose tooth or two, Mario Yamasaki stopped the bout. Thank God!
In victory, Brock was most generous in his praise for Couture, the man he had just beaten senseless.
Most of Randy's fans have seen his movies on the big screen and realize that he is not an award winning actor and could not "fake-act" his way out of a broom closet, let alone fake a loss like he had just incurred.
I suggest the WWE fans rent one of his Scorpion King movies to verify his acting ability.
Much like the many movies "the King" Elvis Presley, (who was a practitioner of Karate), cranked out, he never won any awards (only his debut Flaming Star received any recognition), and I doubt that, as much as he is loved and admired, Randy Couture will become an acclaimed actor for his portrayal of the Scorpion King.
Since WWE fans don't usually get treated to 'quality' acting, though, their standards may differ from the MMA fans who are based on reality and not acting.
Who knows?
The whole point of this is that I must admit that Brock Lesner is straight up, the new UFC Heavyweight Champion.
Without a doubt in my mind I can say that, like Frank Sinatra used to sing, Brock did it his way and all on his own.
Thank you! Thank you vury much!

I've either missed something, or the title of this post is extremely misleading. May I ask where and when WWE said anything about Lesnar-Couture being fixed?
from about 1 month ago
Please go to the "Wrestling" site and see "Was UFC's Main Fight Predetermined?"

While I don't agree with the author's opinion, and he's wrong about several of his article's key points, he doesn't say anything about WWE's opinion on the fight.

I have added the article I wrote this in reponse to at the top and bottom of my article so all you sharp eyed WWE fans will be sure to see it. Sorry to inconvenience all you fine folks.

Wow I never knew I was hired by WWE. Whoo hoo, my aspirations to make people think while I am an undercover WWE agant has payed off.
You seem like a nice lady, but you hate wrestling. I dont hate UFC, I just think people should open your eyes.
I never said every match since it's inception is fixed. That's misquoting. Read my article and see for yourself.
That's the only beef I have with you. That you misquoted me.
and lastly to make my final point statement, I never said the brutality and hitting and kicking is fake.
i said the outcome of the matches in particular in my opinion is predetermined.
Couture vs. Lesnar reeks of a Dana whie oppourtunist marketing bonazna.
You yourself wrote in this article how the match ended.
Hello.. the judge stopped the match.
HE stopped the match.
The judge decided the match.
The judge's decision is what awarded Brock Lesnar the title.
Wow , no there's no way that before hand the judge was told to end it when Couture gets in trouble to end the match and usher in the Lesnar era and new UFC posterboy Brock Lesnar. No that couldnt ever happen.
If you believe that then you believe George W Bush won the 2000 election fair and square.

Well, from your bush comment I now understand why you make these uninformed comments you so well do, you're a Liberal. Regardless, if you believe that a ref calling a fight is fixed, then you must believe that all pro sports are fake. Maybe before a basketball game, the commissioner tells the ref to blow the whistle for one team more than the other. At football games, the number of flags must be pre-determined. The reason the MLB waited so long to use instant replay is so they can milk all those fake calls as long as they could. The reason the ref is the one to stop the fight, is because it'd be pretty unfair if one of the fighters got to do it, don't you think? I used to watch pro wrestling, always knew it was fake, and once I turned about twelve, I stopped. It's more of a sitcom than anything, not a sport, and I can't understand for the life of me why it gets discussed on this web site. Your profile says that you've been featured in pro wrestling magazine, and I don't mean to rude, even though you very much were, but please go back to those magazines. You've become a protester here, more than a writer. If you want to believe that the fight was fixed, great, but please don't come here talking about it. Those conversations don't need to be sparked. I apologize for any disrespect I've given to you, but I come here for intelligent talk on MMA, please don't ruin that for me.
from about 1 month ago
The fight in no way was fixed. Couture got caught by a big shot, which is all Brock throws, and then got pounded out. If you watch mma would have been really satisfied with the stoppage. You say the refs were instructed to stop it when Randy gets in trouble, but the ref gave Randy ample opportunity to defend himself and look to get out of the horrible spot he was in. True mma fans on this site complain about bad (early) stoppages on this site all the time and this subject has yet to come up with this fight.
I am not a Lesnar fan in any way shape or form. I would say most MMA fans are not as well. He represents to me just how weak the HW division is. The fact of the matter is one of the few true heavies we have matched up and beat a guy that should be fighting at 205. No dives were taken, no refs were influenced, and Dana had no influence on the outcome at all. The matchup did not favor Couture and Lesnar really is a force to be reckoned with due to his size and wrestling ability (real wrestling obviously nothing against WWE just not my cup o tea).
Uncle-Joe I agree with most of your points except for the basketball refs one just because the recent huge scandal the NBA had. I know what your saying its just a bad example. But, I also 100% agree that WWE is not a sport and should not be discussed on this site at all seeing as we are known as the open source SPORTS network. Sports are decided by the athletes not by a script. I understand WWE has a huge following (I use to watch it when I was little) but it should not be clumped in with real sports and I am sure they have plenty of other forums to complain about their favorite TV SHOW.
from about 1 month ago
Nick, I was wondering if someone was going to mention the NBA thing. I was thinking about it as I was writing and decided to just let it go. If this had been two years ago, it would've made for a better example, thank you though.

I voted for Gore; Obama is the first president I have voted for who has won an election. Like Brock I can, I can uses plausible deniability to having anything to do with George W. Bush. He is from my generation, but there the resemblance stops. I was a top stucent, did not do: drinking, drugs, fraternity/sorority, partying, etc. like "43." I was engaged during the four years I was in college, was physically active in outdoor sports and very bored with idiots having pretentions of grandeur; I was the epitomy of "normal."
Now, welcome to my world/MMA. Remember rule number one: The fight is over when one fighter can no longer intelligently defend himself. two: Inability to defend is NOT, I repeat young man, NOT determined by a "judge" (of which there are three in MMA) but by the referee of the match. In MMA a referree is a legitimate expert and not a piece of the scenery, as in WWE. In a fight the referee IS the supreme authority on determining if a fighter's well being is in danger of being compromised. (Are ya keepin up Ronnie?).
A judge was not involved in determining the fight, a referee was, that was his responsibility not the judges, Camprende amigo?
In MMA the referee does not turn his back or become distracted so a midget can sneak into the octagon and kick one of the opponents in the shins, or hit them with a bat, folding chair or any other weapon of choice for a midget that day. Our referees are not paid by the UFC, as are the WWE "referees" and in the case of the WWE, I use the term "referee" loosely as they are NOT legit, being paid by the company. Our referees may or may not even "like" Dana White, are not dependent on Dana for their pay, and are proud, very serious and humble about their responsibilities.
Whether or not the ref thought Randy was unable to continue to defend himself was not due to any instructions from Mr. White who in fact was critical of the ref for hesitating to end the match a little sooner, which might have saved Randy's teeth from being loosened by Lesner's anvil sized fists,
I treat the Pro wrestling crowd as if they were a few fries short of a Happy Meal when they make idiotic statements about "a 'judge' stopping a title fight--ludicrous, sir! Sorry to insult you, but as my hero Forrest Gump always says "Stupid is as stupid does."
Yes, dear boy, even a blind man can tell that WWE is based totally on fiction, but it is a different story in the MMA.
But sincerely, had I not visited your site and read two other articles besides yours, I would not have said WWE--I was refering to the "community" on B/R and NOT the organization. My title was edited to gain attention, most likely, and you can verify that with the history of my article--if you do please also notice that my article was not changed and the grammar and spelling used in it are my own, I am told I am an easy edit.
Now I must go as this has given me a headache.
from about 1 month ago
Who is this Judge you speak of?
Judge Joe Brown?
Sorry, pal, REFEREE Mario Yamasaki declared this one a TKO victory for Lesnar due to the fact that Couture was not defending himself capably and faced more of a pounding had this continued.
If you are not knowledgable enough to realize that the three judges sit outside of the cage and a referee is inside with the fighters; you probably should stick to your open mics, comic books and pro wrestling.
So, perhaps head over to the Giggling Goose and grab the mic for 5 minutes of conspiracy theories and keen observations on politics coupled with a rapier wit that will have them all begging for more but refrain from writing on a sport you know nothing about.
The only thing you know about MMA is that Brock Lesnar is a former WWE wrestler.
Let us leave it at that and have you step away from the MMA and back into the land of The Watchmen and Triple H.
Ok Uncle Joe.
You dont have to worry i'm not a fan of UFC, So I wont be writing any more articles.
I have followed Brock Lesnar's career though. and him winning the title when he's only had 2 matches before this is ominious and auspicious at best.
Remember my words.
And when Lesnar sits atop UFC a year from and UFC gets even bigger because of the marketing they do with Lesnar remember this faithful day and the faithful day Dana White gave Brock Lesnar the throne atop his empire.
ps: I'm not a liberal.
That was the best assumtion yet on this site.

Listen, I'm a pretty skeptical guy myself, but just because I guy won the title in four fight (not three, two in the UFC, and one for another promotion) that doesn't mean it was fixed. I once tapped out a black belt in Mina Jiu Jitsu who weighs 220 Lbs. (I weigh 130), I have no martial art rankings to my name, but I'm naturally good at it. The guy didn't let me tap him out, I just pulled through. Brock Lesnar is bigger than a lot of farm animals, has an NCAA title to his name, and had been training for the fight for months. Sometimes people just pull through, not because they were given a hand out, but simply because they were able to get it done. I agree that White gave Lesnar the shot so he could make money, and I think it was almost a mirror image of what Pro Elite did with Kimbo. However, I believe that the UFC's biggest paying fan base is made up of casual fans. They will watch a fight with Brock Lesnar whether or not he wins. The guy could paint himself green, wear his PJs, and a shower cap, and people would still watch. Dana white didn't have as much to gain off a Lesnar win as people think, he would make money either way. P.S. I can't imagine you're a conservative with a comment like you made.

Auspicious?" Could you possibly mean "suspicious?"
All MMA fans will tell you that in the octagon, as is true of life itself, you cannot predict what is going to happen. That is, I repeat, because it is real as opposed to your "sport" not choreographed, rehearsed, or scripted. Is this registering at all? (KNOCK! KNOCK!) Is anyone home? If I was accusing you of being anything, I would only use a five letter word that even my preschool grandson would recognize. Go outside to get that fresh air and clear your head, PLEASE!

I actually am Uncle Joe,
Let me put it this way.
Just because I didnt like someone who was president, doesnt mean I'm not a conserative.
People Like Clinton and didnt vote for Obama because they were for Hillary.
I happen to be from an old school believe growing up that Reagan was the greatest president who ever lived.
That doesnt mean though just because Bush sr was Reagan's vice president I like the guy or his family.
As a conserative and raised republican, I am anxiously waiting until 2012 for the republicans to regroup and start an exciting new era. It may be 2012 or it may be 2016 ub it will happen. I believe Palin and, Shwartzanegger have a bright future in the national scene.
I dont like Big goverment.
I'm sorry if offend you but Bush's presidency was more big goverment interference then i've ever seen.
He stayed out of the finacial crisis until it was too late but had goverment involved and mettle with just about everytghing else in 8 years.
I will say this Bush was able to have war on many fronts without bringing back a draft.
Watch what Obama does.
People will wish Bush was still president.

My God! Suddenly I understand. YOU thought that Ronald R. Reagan was "the best president we ever had." He was an actor with Alzheimers, for God sake and based his decision on his wife Nancy's Astrologist advice, for God's sake! No wonder you are a fan of WWE.
Here, have some nice cherry Kool Aid and a yummy graham cracker then sit down in the circular carpet with your hands folded in your lap to listen. There, are you paying attention?
You are not a political analyst. You do sound vaguely familiar to me, probably b/c I worked for so many years on an Adolescent Behavioral Health (Psychiatric) Unit for ages 5-18, and, occasionally, the developmentally disabled.
Mettle- spirit, courage; and/or- on one's mettle- prepared to do one's best.

Bruce Raymond Mitchell. You wouldn't have anything to do with another sports entertainment website with Wade Keller, would you?
from about 1 month ago
Ah, but Mr. Raymond, I may have retired but I am still an advocate for education. It bothers me to see ignorance in print anywhere in our society. I would not want to waste the money, time or energy that was spent in obtaining MY education. Just as I took an oath as a medical professional to "Above all, do no harm," I feel compelled to use my nursing knowledge for helping others as well. So sir, please excuse me for giving a damn about my fellow man! I don't know your profession, but I can tell you are a very self centered, shallow person.

How does Mrs. Willis come off as unlikable? In my time here, though it may be short, I have never had a conflict with her, or anyone for that matter. Could it possibly be because I am respectful with all my comments? Some people seem to think that since they are online, they cannot tarnish their image, so they spew garbage, unintelligently and disrespectfully. Mrs. Willis is a smart, kind person, even I can see that, and for you to say she is unlikable for being cunning and using her knowledge, is very low. To get respect, you must give respect. If you're looking for positive recognition here, an apology is probably in order.

I saw the Lesner fight & while I don't think it was fixed, I am wondering if the outcome was luck. Anybody can get lucky once. You saw him in round 1 right, the last 30 seconds or so? His next match will establish him beyond doubt for me.
As for the childish argueing between you people, we all have our opinions and are entitled to them. Fixed or not it was a great fight. We were entertained & just like in the WWE, that's all that matters. That and nobody gets seriously injured. And while WWE is choreagraphed entertainment, the wrestlers are still athletes & risk injury every time they step in the ring. It's not the same as UFC but give them their respect. You don't have to like WWE wrestling to respect the people that do it.
Oh and while it is true that Ronald Reagan did have althiemers & did get advice from his astrology believing wife, he was much more than that. He was a great man & one of our greatest presidents.
from about 1 month ago
Luck and circumstance do affect the outcome of MMA fights IMHO. Like the saying goes, "It is MMA and anything can happen."
I liked Ronnie's movies rather than his impersonation of a president; he did have good advisors that kept the country going. As a person with an impairment too, I do not believe he should have stayed in office for a second term. The honorable thing for an impaired person to do would be to step down. When my impairment affected my ability to function as an RN I retired and I can not imagine how having a president his age and having Alzheimers was good for our country. Physical impairment is one thing but mental incompetance is another. At least he was a good enough actor to make it through, but his debates were a disgrace.
I completely agree with your luck theory and have seen it affect other fights. I will have more faith in Brock if he wins the next fight.

Viva Las Vegas, despite several glaring editing errors, was my very favorite of the films he did in color, and Flaming Star is my favorite (black and white film) for being a quality film he should have received an Oscar award for, I saw it with my grandmother and have fond memories of the occasion.Ann Margaret is my age and before my breast reduction our figures were very similar although she was much shorter than my 5' 8" My girlfriend Janet and I saw it together so many times that we could recite all the lines. We had so much fun perfecting and imitaing the inflections in the dialog between her and Elvis. God, she was great!

Atrocious--must have been done by a WWE fan just to ruin it for the rest of us.
Rock? Who knew--who cares! He was one of the most well loved actors of all time. His sexuallity does nothing to detract from him as an actor, or what a great actor he was to cover up his "real" life predilections. You are a former teacher, I am a current teacher. The difference is, you seem to have this attitude that you are all-knowing and it doesn't work that way. Now, if you are going to sit and type comments that are taking shots at the intelligence of wrestling fans, please make sure that your writing is flawless.
"What fun, a fan of a fake sport stating with great conviction that "it will soon be revealed that "all" the UFC fights have been fixed since its inception" (that means 'begining' for you WWE fans trying to follow along)."
I believe the word is B-E-G-I-N-N-I-N-G. I know I'm just being petty but a true wrestling fan with little intelligence should have missed that typo, right?

I would guess if one is not visually impaired, as I am (from Multiple Sclerosis and struggling every day that I write to be able to detect if there is a single or double letter on the page) that writing and detecting typo's would be a lot easier. I am living with a great burden, buddy, so like your friend Trevor, hey, take your best shot! Boy I bet YOU inspire a lot of people; show this to your students to impress them BIG MAN. Wow, you sure put the cripple in her place. Nice tag team you and the emence Trevor-whww! What BG SMART MEN you are!

did I ever call you cripple? Did I ever attack your physical stature in any way? It didn't even cross my mind that your suffer from what you do. I read your work. I try to comment on your unless you I feel I need to comment on your character.
I've never came into anyone's articles and plan on bashing them. I read their piece and respond accordingly. I didn't even read Trevor's comment. I don't feel the need to "tag team" with anyone. I'm grown, as you are.
I really wish you would quit it with the snide remarks as well. I don't need to show my students anything. I only told you something I would tell anyone: If you are trying to prove a point about vocabulary and intelligence, then make sure your stuff is done properly.
But I'm pretty sure you will think this is a personal attack on you, huh?

A personal attack on me on the comments in response to an article thet I wrote--now who in their right mind would NOT think it was a personal attack?
I am a cripple. Using the keyboard is an onerus task. MS has crippled my hands with numbness and when I type it is exactly like typing with mittens on my hands which is not easy. I am always much more surprised when my articles have no mistakes or typos, and in a small moment of pride I think "wow, I am NOT so hopeless after all. My prideful moments do not last long, b/c then I will need something that requires one of my caretakers to do something for me and the slate is wiped clean.
There is an emotional component as well. I deplore that a mysteriouws illness has robbed me of so many of the abilities that once made me a unique individual.
Hope this news brightens your day, buster.

you still don't get it and i guess you never will. All these terms you like to throw into your comments "buster" "big man", etc, are all snide little comments. Whatever Dorothy, don't change. Continue to not take anyones criticism as constructive. Keep thinking that everything someone says that is not in agreeance with your thoughts is a personal attack.
I never met you so I don't know why I would attack you personally. But if you want to think that, by all means, continue to do so.

I lied.
I'm a independant that was raised republican.
I dont like to catorgize myself. I like when people catogorize me by assuming i'm something by my comments. People that are threatened intellectually or threatend that others have different belifes them themselves, they like to label people.
There are things I agree with with the Democrats and there are things I agree with , with the Republicans.
As far as explaining myself Matt.
I believe under the new adminitration they will bring back the draft.
Whether it was Hillary or Obama I believe it's been in the works for some time. Do the research.
The problem is not many people want to hear reality.
Your MMA leader here Dorothy likes to attack everyone she disagree's with and makes them the enemy.
Sounds like the past 8 years and our administration.
One day before it's too late and the whole planet kills each other, maybe someone will open thier eyes and see the big picture.
What you think you know and believe and what is reality are two seperate things.
Consider me the person who kept telling everyone the world isnt flat.
But was mocked for my ideals.
How's this for a final statement you can hold me to.
When and if Brock Lesnar looses his UFC title within the next year and he doesnt win it back by next year at this time, then I'll believe that The Couture v. Lesnar match wasnt fixed.
If Lesnar looses the title then wins it back multiple times, I will continue to believe what I believe. If he doesnt loose it at all, you'll know my words are for real.
You'll have to swallow that reality.

And one last thing in defense of Shane.
If I recall Dorothy, You wrote a response article that attacked me because You dont agree with my article.
That all fine and dandy. But Remember you were the one who attacked first.
You also misquoted me.
You chose to come to the wrestling community and write your thoughts fine.
But then you decided to include my name in your reponse article.
You fanned the flames. If you dont want to deal with u wrestling fans then why write a response article that attacks us and riducles us wrestling fans.
Al because I wrote an opinion.
I let you write your comment that you didnt agree with me in my article.
I took the "I'm a moron" comments by your cohorts.
I didnt come to your articles and attack you.
No I came to this very article because YOU had to include my name in it and misquote me.
Then attacked me and said I'm mentally challenged.
Sorry you haelth health issues.
But you know what?
It's not inhibiting you from writing hateful stuff to us all now is it?
No one ever attacked you or your health issues, you were the one who said heinous things like every single thing we wrote correcting our spelling and saying I belong in an institute. I'm mentally challenged.
Then attacked people with Alzheimer's disease like Ronald Reagan because you didnt like him.
Show compassion to others and you'll get some back.
