HBK Vs. Taker: Who Wins?

Imagine this: you are one of the 50,000 plus fans in attendance at Wrestlemania XXV in Houston. It is the silver anniversary of the greatest spectacle in sports entertainment and you are there live. They announce that the next match is Shawn Michaels vs. The Undertaker and whoever loses the match MUST retire. And then it hits you, Who do I root for?

Now this match isn't a definite as Wrestlemania is many months away, but it has been circulating throughout the Internet for a good portion of the year and many believe it will happen. I for one would love for this match to occur, but it has also crossed my mind that it could be either Taker's or HBK's last match in the WWE as an active wrestler.

Both are 43 years old and many are wondering how much longer their bodies can take. Both have also had their fair share of injuries that sidelined them for months (years in HBK's case) and one more would probably do it.

The big question is: How does WWE create a perfect ending for either of these legendary superstars? Well for one, have it at the granddady one them all, Wrestlemania (the biggest stage in wrestling) and two, make it against the only other guy that has been in the business as long as the other.

My storyline idea would be for either Shawn/Taker to win one last world title (whether at Armageddon, Raw, or Smackdown) and then lose it at the Rumble when the other interferes (Hbk screwing Taker for example), then later in the night during the Rumble match have the other screw them out of the match (Taker screws HBK for revenge).

It is then set up by Vince (yeah he'll be back by then) that at Wrestlemania there will be a match between the two, and the loser has to retire...

After weeks of emotional promo videos and fan reactions, the match is ready and you are glued in your seat, waiting for the outcome of potentially one of the greatest matches of all time by two of the greatest superstars of all time. And you ask yourself...does Mr. Wrestlemania continue the legacy and end the streak or does The Deadman make it 17-0 at Wrestlemania and make the Heartbreak Kid rest in peace for good?

  1. I see this as a good scenario, but I think HBK's got one or two more years left. Even though the home state rivalry would be great. But anything could happen in the wwe...

  2. Well HBK shouldn't be the one to end the streak, that should go to a younger guy to help propel him in the WWE, someone like MVP, Kennedy, Dibiase, some one like that. If this match were to take place though, it would either be a Taker victory or a DRAW...
