Happy Thanksgiving everyone from NFL Mikee.

I am going to show you who will make the playoffs using a simple formula of looking at games left to be played and making some intelligent forecasts.

Most of my predictions have been very good this season. Lets break this down so even a monkey could figure it out.

First, we have the division winners!

We will start with the easiest ones and work our way to the pitiful AFC West.

Giants win the NFC East! What a shocker that one is, huh?

The NFC central, known as the black and blue division, is very tight! Minnesota and Chicago are tied at 6-5, while Green Bay remains one game behind. It looks like the Pack will come up short, but think again, monkeys!

Minnesota and Chicago play each other. One of these teams is 7-5 while the other slips to 6-6. Green Bay wins at home this week and they are at 6-6.

Chicago beats Jacksonville, Minnesota beats Denver. Green Bay beats Houston. Chicago or Minnesota is 8-5, two remaining teams are 7-6.

Week 15, New Orleans gets a win over the Bears. Green Bay beats Jacksonville. Arizona beats Minnesota. Hmmm, Packers are tied for the division lead at 8-6.

Week 16, Green Bay plays the Bears, who they previously beat 38-3, presumably wins, and goes to 9-6. Minnesota is desperately hanging on if they beat Atlanta, which could be tough!

Week 17, Packers beat Detroit to go to 10-6, Minnesota loses to the Giants, and the bears are also one game out even if they win.

Poof. Packers win that division. Looking back, if Chicago can't beat New Orleans and Green Bay, they are toast! Will 9-7 get a wild card? We will look at that shortly!

Lets look at the NFC South now!

Carolina loses to Green Bay, dropping them to 8-4. Tampa Bay beats New Orleans in Tampa in a close one. Tampa Bay is now at 9-3, New Orleans is basically done! Atlanta has room to win  and move to 8-4  or lose and fall to 7-5.

Week 14, Atlanta plays for their wild card life against 6-6 New Orleans! Tampa Bay plays in Carolina basically for the division title. They could both be at 9-4 or Tampa Bay moves to a comfortable 10-3, while Carolina is now in it for a wild card, possibly.

Week 15, Tampa Bay plays Atlanta in a very big game for both teams. IF Alanta wins, they have a possible 9-5 record at this point and 10-4 isn't out of the question. Tampa wins and most likely they are at 10-4 at least. Meanwhile, New Orleans is having to play the Bears in very cold weather. Let's say New Orleans loses. That will give the Bears a glimmer of hope until they play Green Bay. Carolina possibly can beat Denver, making them 9-5, or if they managed to beat Tampa, 10-4.

Week 16, Carolina loses to the Giants. The division is up for grabs if Tampa can beat  San Diego coming to the East coast, and Atlanta plays Minnesota up north.

Week 17, Tampa beats the Raiders, Atlanta beats the Rams, Carolina and New Orleans are playing for a road to nowhere!

Tampa Bay wins this division, with Atlanta getting a wild card! The second wild card will go to Dallas!

NFC west goes to Arizona of course!

  1. While you do a great job of explaining how a 9-7 team will make the playoffs from the NFC Central, you never explained how or why the Cowboys make it into the playoffs.

How do they edge out the Redskins? The schedule favors the Skins. Dallas- 3 of 5 have winning records Sea, Pitt, Balt, NYG, Phi. Washington- 2 of 5 have winning records- NYG, Cin, Balt, Phi, SF. Unless the Skins collapse, they should finish 11-5, which will put them in.

  2. I finished your article and I think you need to do some editing and clean up. You make more than two dozen grammatical errors and you also have New England losing and beating Pittsburgh. Which is it?

    1. its late and i have to work in the morning! i saw some misspellings too lol. im tired. one of my editors! helpppp!!!! lol I picked new england to win this week. lets go with that! thomas thanks lucky!!

  3. Washington s offense has looked so anemic im a little worried about them finishing! I think Dallas will finish very strong! Maybe Im overlooking the redskins but they barely beat seatlle! i had them too! Washington could lose to giants, baltimore, and philadelphia, as well as a late charge by the 49ers who put up points vs Dallas. Im a little worried about the Redskins ability to score. Dallas should win against Seattle , Baltimore, Philly and MAybe Pittsburgh! bEATING THE GIANTS MIGHT BE A STRETCH! LOL. i DOn t think either team washington or dallas goes very far in the playoffs. thanks for the comment and the read. It sprobablt too early to call 5 games with all these scenerio s but it was kinda fun to write and try anyway! thomas

  4. ok cleaned it up a bit ! it was midnight when i finished this one and i get up at 6am, or should i say my dogs wake me up at 6am to go out! lol looking forward to a day off! Hooray!!! thomas Article now edited a tad! lol thomas
