Garrett Nussmeier's Brother Colton Makes CFB Commitment Between Georgia, UCLA, More

Another member of the Nussmeier family will be looking to make his mark in the SEC.

Colton Nussmeier, the younger brother of former LSU quarterback and 2026 seventh-round NFL draft pick Garrett Nussmeier, told Hayes Fawcett of Rivals that he is committing to Georgia. The signal-caller chose the Bulldogs over offers from UCLA, Texas Tech, Wisconsin, Arkansas and more.

A 6'3", 200-pound prospect out of Denton Ryan High School in Texas, Nussmeier is rated as a 4-star recruit and the No. 14 quarterback in the class of 2027 in 247Sports' composite. He played his junior season at Flower Mound Marcus High School and produced 1,390 passing yards, 12 passing touchdowns, an interception, 278 rushing yards and three more scores across eight games before suffering a knee injury.

247Sports director of scouting Andrew Ivins described Nussmeier as a "towering southpaw with a big arm that comes from a football family" who "projects as a Power Four starter that can connect on vertical shots and be opportunistic as a passer."

Nussmeier will look to follow in his brother's footsteps to the NFL, as Garrett is currently getting used to life as a professional with the Kansas City Chiefs.
