Goal looks even better than the TV angles ๐ฅ
Celebrations for USMNT's goals. Looks fun!

After an extraordinary first-half performance by the United States that included Folarin Balogun's brace, the main talking point of the second will be who wasn't involved.
Yes, Gio Reyna produced a deeply satisfying fourth goal in second-half stoppage time that should truly send the Americans into party mode. But there will still be nerves surrounding the halftime exit of Christian Pulisic after his excellent opening 45 minutes.
At the very least, it's a substitution that suggests he's still managing his well documented hip and glute injuries. His status is likely to be a major focus of Mauricio Pochettino's post-match press conference, and given the way he constantly terrorized the right side of Paraguay's back line, you understand why.
The second half was far more meandering and choppy than the first, and the Americans still proved incapable of keeping a clean sheet when Paraguay's Maurico pulled one back shortly after the hydration break. At the same time, it must have been comforting for USMNT fans to see their side give a goal back and lose their best player, and still never look seriously rattled or threatened.
There were other half-chances to add on, the best falling to substitute Ricardo Pepi, who was a half-second slow in pulling the trigger on a couple of occasions. And there were also early curtain calls for Balogun and Sergino Dest with an eye toward Matchday 2 against Australia, a luxury most American sides have never had during the group stage.
If anything, those brief second-half hiccups will be a blessing for Pochettino, who must have wondered at halftime if he would have any negative film from this game to keep his players honest. And the Americans need to be kept honest.
Because this was a strong performance, but against an opponent that was very poor. Paraguay will have to be far better against Turkiye and Australia if they wish to progress. And the USMNT needs to know stiffer tests are coming.
Unbelievable goal on all levels. 20+ passes.
Drink it in, fans of U.S. soccer
USMNT performance tainted slightly by goal late in second half. It was definitely the Brazil post's fault...
Prime Brazil levels? Perhaps not yet...
Ream's yellow card removed as Almiron proved to have dived. He gets the yellow. What's fair is fair. We can sleep soundly.
Absolutely loving it after US takes lead

Hollywood trades in drama. So far in Southern California, the United States doesn't.
The USMNT roared to a thoroughly deserved 3-0 halftime lead against Paraguay in their World Cup opener on an early goal created by some wonderful combination between Christian Pulisic and Weston McKennie and a clinical second from Folarin Balogun following another (slightly deflected) Pulisic cross.
Pulisic was as active on the left flank as we've seen in recent USMNT memory, and Balogun was far more involved in the final phase than in either tune-up friendly leading into the tournament. Antonee Robinson also deserves praise for the peach of a ball he played to find Pulisic down the left that led to Balogun's first.
It was domination that came despite Paraguay's shock inclusion of the supposedly injured Julio Enciso into their XI. But Enciso was barely evident in the opening 45 minutes, and frankly, neither were the rest of the Albirroja, save for Damian Bobadilla. He was conspicuous for the wrong reasons, unintentionally McKennie's square pass into his own net to star the onslaught.
Absolutely stunning performance in first half from USA who gets ridiculous finish from Flo.
Richards got UP for that one.
Pulisic in spicyyyyy form sets up USMNT's second goal with great move to Flo.
That flick was butta. More of that .
