Despite their year-to-year consistency, the Brewers have a tendency to be underestimated going into each season because they aren't a big-spending club with a lot of superstars on the roster.

For instance, their only free agent signings last offseason were Jose Quintana and Elvin Rodríguez. The latter was designated for assignment in July after posting an 8.68 ERA in six appearances.

Quintana, even at the age of 36, was a stabilizing force for the pitching staff. He has a 3.88 ERA and is part of a rotation that has the third-best ERA in MLB.

Quinn Priester, a former first-round pick by the Pittsburgh Pirates, was acquired early in the season. He quickly established himself as a standout for the rotation, throwing more innings in 2025 than he did in the previous two seasons combined (99.2).

The lineup doesn't have a lot of marquee names, but it's loaded with quality hitters from top to bottom. Joey Ortiz is the only regular with a below-average OPS+, but he makes up for it on defense by ranking fifth among all qualified shortstops in outs above average.

After starting the season 0-4 in March, including a three-game sweep at the hands of the New York Yankees in which they allowed 32 runs and 13 homers in the final two games, the Brewers have had a winning record in every month since.

The peak of Milwaukee's regular season came from Aug. 1-16, when it won a franchise-record 14 consecutive games. The streak helped the Brewers open up a lead of nine games in the NL Central over the Chicago Cubs at one point.

As impressive as this regular season has been, the next step for the Brewers will be getting over the hump in the playoffs. Their last postseason series win was in 2018 when they swept the Colorado Rockies in the NLDS before losing to the Los Angeles Dodgers in seven games in the NLCS.
